The images below depict the brave widows, orphans and grandmothers from the Holy Angel Parish in Plaridel, Bulacan. They came from different family backgrounds, age and occupation but, brought together by one bitter and tragic event in their lives, they are all EJK victims of this government’s War On-Drugs.
Despite their fears, fragile frames and silent demeanor, they discovered that, they possess an unimagined strength within; new friends and a family who shares the same scared yet sacred stories as theirs.
Part of Program Paghilom’s holistic care for our beloved widows and orphans is a Theater Art Workshop. All participants labored for 2 days. Then on the 3rd day, they beautifully created something wonderful out of their brokenness and fears!
“Sa Gitna ng Kulturang Karahasan, Paghilom ng Diyos ay Maaasahan”
It is the first Theater Art Showcase performed by widows and orphans victims of Tokhang in the Diocese of Malolos.
This was made possible through the openness and faith of Fr.Rico Trinidad, Parish Priest of Holy Angels Parish, Plaridel, Bulacan and with the kind support of Bp.Dennis Villarojo, Diocese of Malolos. Through the direction of Mr.Albert Saldajeno. Program Paghilom continues her mission of re-creating and empowering the lives of the homeless and the wounded.
Come and be part of this life-giving mission!
