Today, as we celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Mt.Carmel, we also celebrated the 4th Anniversary of Arnold Janssen Kalinga Center (AJKC) – 4 years of Caring For the Homeless.
Partners In Mission and Friends were treated to a morning of smiles and fun. Apart from launching the new video of Kalinga. We all were moved to tears of joy in listening to the heart warming stories of brokenness to healing to renewal of our beneficiary-volunteers.
Stories of long years of drug addiction; rejection by their families; convicted criminals and bad decisions are all factors that brought them to live in the streets.
Yet, it dawned on them that, after being a recipient of “kain-ligo” for some time. They decided it’s time to level-up and take on the responsibility of caring for their former “homeless” brethren.
One testimony made by Andy (a former drug who was rejected by his family and lived in the streets for years, only to find an abode in Kalinga), ang tunay na “Kalinga” ay hindi lang po dito sa Kalinga Center. Ang tunay na Kalinga ay sa twina tayo ay nagbibigay pang-uunawa at pag-asa ng walang pang-huhusga sa kapwang sugatan”. Andy is now working full-time in “Aruga Laundry Station” and is now united with his family while serving in Kalinga Center at least twice a week.
Can you also be part of the mission of recreating and empowering lives?
