Arnold Janssen Kalinga Center’s KALINGA SA KALYE…
Since Kalinga Center was shut down by our egotistic Brgy Capt (and who recently also refused us to share 5kls of rice to 75 indigent households of our Barangay), Arnold Janssen Kalinga Center has never ceased in providing dignified, systematic and holistic care even in the streets of Luneta and Lawton during these days of COVID-19 pandemic.
A brief update of our small efforts in offering HELP and HOPE to the Homeless and Hungry in Metro Manila. We started preparing DPM (dignified pack meals) in April 25 till the present, November 20, 2020:
Total Feeding Days: 165 days
Gradual increase of homeless & hungry: started in April 25, 2020 with 250 pax; in June it rose to 600; September it went to 750; October arose to 850; November it rose to 1,000 and on 3 occasions, we offered 1,100 DPM (dignified pack meals). Cost of Meals: Php 3.45M
Today, we celebrate the feast of Christ the King and the Gospel beckons us:
“When I was hungry, you gave me food; When I was thirsty, you gave me drink; When I was naked, you clothed me; When I was a stranger, you welcomed me; When I was i sick and in prison, you visited me.” (Mt 25: 31-46)
Would you want to belong to Christ’s reign? Would you want to belong to His mission? Advent is coming. Come and prepare to welcome Christ among the hungry, the thirsty, the naked; the sick and imprisoned. One DPM (“dignified pack meal”) composed of Sinandomeng rice, meat and veggies costs P40.00/ pack.
Be a partner in the mission of “recreating and empowering the lives of our dear homeless sisters and brothers”.
