Today at Program Paghilom, Batch 8 gathers together in prayer to Our Father. Batch 8 is composed of 20 widows and orphans who lost 19 loved ones due to the (Fake) War-On Drugs.
On the other hand, I had lunch with two orphans who lost their father (2017) and their mother (2018). But what was so uplifting was after a good meal, I asked them if they wish to watch a movie? The reply of the “ate” was, “madami na po kayong nagastos sa amin, sapat na po yun father”. Since their parents couldn’t be there for them, I thought of letting them buy some post-Christmas gifts for themselves.
Before we left the Mall, I felt Até’s tight arms around me, saying, “maraming salamat po Father sa pagmamahal.”
There are at least 46 totally orphaned children under Program Paghilom. ALL are struggling & persevering in their studies.
